Maryland computer programmer, John Winter Smith has a noble goal. No he's not working on decoding the human genome, designing a secure operating system, or creating flawless voice recognition.

John Smith's goal: to visit every Starbucks Coffee store in the world. So far he's bought coffee at more than 4,500 stores of the chain in North America and more than 200 overseas.

What a coincedence. My noble goal has been to walk into every Starbucks and scream, "What the F*** is wrong with you people?!?"

A call about a possible weapon at a middle school prompted police to put armed officers on rooftops, close nearby streets and lock down the school.

After seeing a boy carrying something long and wrapped into Marshall Junior High, authorities lept into action.

The drama ended two hours later when the suspicious item was identified as a 30-inch burrito filled with steak, guacamole, lettuce, salsa and jalapenos and wrapped inside tin foil and a white T-shirt.

I feel safer already.

To many in the Old Northeast neighborhood where Sarah Slicker lived and babysat, she was a Mary Poppins-like figure with a brilliant smile, bubbly disposition and a natural ability with children.

Slicker began babysitting at age 12. She taught Bible classes, helped with Sunday school and worked in the nursery at First United Methodist Church. Her church awarded her a college scholarship and she graduated from Florida Southern College with a degree in pre-K education.

Everything seemed peachy except that odd incident when she was babysitting a 4-year-old boy, who demanded she take off her clothes, whereupon she complied, and let him touch her.

Oops.

Actually, what's sad about this, is that this is not really Paris Hilton's fault. I wonder if the FBI will look into the bad security that T-Mobile and Sidekick seem to have?
