Two news stories have been circulating this week on the Internet that mask more dubious intentions that are worth mentioning.

In one story, a famous movie producer is building low-income housing, "To help less-affluent people settle an otherwise upscale area of California" -- how noble.. if that were actually the case.

In the second story, one of the richest people in the world is claiming to "bring the Internet to the underpriviledged," but it too, is a scam....

Australian vloggers, Juice Media have been putting out very high quality, almost-too-intense news-based rap videos for quite awhile now and I'm a big fan of their work. But their latest video, with nods to Russel Brand and Die Antwoord is revolutionarily mind-blowing in my opinion.. see for yourself..

Apparently, when you publish your Social Security number prominently on your website and billboards, people take it as an invitation to steal your identity.

Pope Benedict XVI condemned unbridled “pagan” passion for power, possessions and money as a modern-day plague Saturday as he led more than a quarter of a million Catholics in an outdoor Mass in Paris, before retreating to his private limo, private jet and gold-plated vestments with jewel-encrusted hat, in his monolithic mansion institution where upon he contemplated how best to keep people with AIDS from being able to use condoms.

Two United States Senators implicated in extramarital sexual activity have named themselves as co-sponsors of S. J. RES. 43, dubbed the Marriage Protection Amendment. If ratified, the bill would amend the United States Constitution to state that marriage "shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman."

Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID), who was arrested June 11, 2007 on charges of lewd conduct in a Minneapolis airport terminal, is co-sponsoring the amendment along with Sen. David Vitter (R-LA), whom in July of 2007, was identified as a client of a prostitution firm owned by the late Deborah Jeane Palfrey, commonly known as The DC Madam.

This must be the most ironic story we've ever submitted. The Creationist propaganda movie claiming the scientific community is discriminating against those who believe differently, "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed" held a screening at the Mall of America. In attendance were many people who were featured in the film, including Biology professor PZ Myers, who was found and asked to leave the theater. All the while, his friend standing next to him was ignored. Who was his friend? Oxford professor Richard Dawkins!

We have a video interview of the event.

FEMA Holds Press Conference.... For FEMA?

FEMA has truly learned the lessons of Katrina. Even its handling of the media has improved dramatically. For example, as the California wildfires raged Tuesday, Vice Adm. Harvey E. Johnson, the deputy administrator, had a 1 p.m. news briefing.

Reporters were given only 15 minutes' notice of the briefing, making it unlikely many could show up at FEMA's Southwest D.C. offices. They were given an 800 number to call in, though it was a "listen only" line, the notice said -- no questions. Parts of the briefing were carried live on Fox News, MSNBC and other outlets.

So who did FEMA give the press conference to? Other FEMA employees pretending to be reporters.

Parents who forbid their children to cross roads alone may be preventing them from learning vital lessons in how to avoid being run over, according to an analysis of official figures in England.

The proportion of children who are never allowed to cross a road unsupervised has risen each year for the past five years. But the number of child pedestrians being killed is also rising.

Personal Letters Show Now-Sainted Mother Teresa Was An Atheist

In life, Mother Teresa was an icon for believers of God's work on Earth. Her ministry to the poor of Calcutta was a world-renowned symbol of religious compassion. She was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

In a rare interview in 1986, Mother Teresa told CBS News she had a calling, based on unquestioned faith.

"They are all children of God, loved and created by the same heart of God," she said.

But now, it has emerged that Mother Teresa was so doubtful of her own faith that she feared being a hypocrite, according to a book of her letters which was recently released. Her doubts about faith were documented as far back as the 1950s.
