America has told Britain that it can “kidnap” British citizens if they are wanted for crimes in the United States.

A senior lawyer for the American government has told the Court of Appeal in London that kidnapping foreign citizens is permissible under American law because the US Supreme Court has sanctioned it.

The head of the federal agency investigating Karl Rove's White House political operation is facing allegations that he improperly deleted computer files during another probe, using a private computer-help company, Geeks on Call.

Scott Bloch runs the Office of Special Counsel, an agency charged with protecting government whistleblowers and enforcing a ban on federal employees engaging in partisan political activity.

This brainiac was caught calling "Geeks on call" for instructions on how to wipe hard drives.

Kucinich: Are You Kidding? This Is About World Peace!

[Television]
Dennis Kucinich appeared on the CBS Early Show the other day and was asked by the host Hanna Storm, whether it was a good idea to meet with the leader of Iran. Watch as he embarrasses the biased show host by speaking frankly and with common sense nobody else at the network seems to have.

When Ms Storm's attempt to malign Kucinich fails, she goes after his wife personally, fixating on her tongue ring while Dennis wants to talk about world peace. Very classy people there at CBS. If this doesn't demonstrate the bizarre agenda some in the media have, I don't know what does.

A video is floating around showing a news reporter asking President Bush tough questions. Of course, this is on Irish TV and not the American media. Check out how upset Bush gets that someone has the audacity to question the legitimacy of torture or the war in Iraq.

President Bush, a man who's about as popular as bacon sandwiches during Ramadan, is just getting started. Vetoing, that is. A bill which fairly flew through both houses of Congress with incredible support from both sides has been struck down by el Presidente. What was wrong with it? It gives money to repair hurricane damage, restore wetlands, and prevent flooding. Those bastards.

FEMA Holds Press Conference.... For FEMA?

FEMA has truly learned the lessons of Katrina. Even its handling of the media has improved dramatically. For example, as the California wildfires raged Tuesday, Vice Adm. Harvey E. Johnson, the deputy administrator, had a 1 p.m. news briefing.

Reporters were given only 15 minutes' notice of the briefing, making it unlikely many could show up at FEMA's Southwest D.C. offices. They were given an 800 number to call in, though it was a "listen only" line, the notice said -- no questions. Parts of the briefing were carried live on Fox News, MSNBC and other outlets.

So who did FEMA give the press conference to? Other FEMA employees pretending to be reporters.

Bush Inserts Secret Clause In Bill To Pardon His Own War Crimes

This is about a year old, but still worth revisiting because it never got enough press last year: Deep within the "Terrorist Tribunal" Act is a provision retroactively pardoning the President, Vice President, and their subordinates for violations of the War Crimes Act committed since September 11, 2001.

Btw this bill was part of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which passed and is now law.

Slate writes, "President Bush's TV address [Thursday] was the worst speech he's ever given on the war in Iraq, and that's saying a lot. Every premise, every proposal, nearly every substantive point was sheer fiction. The only question is whether he was being deceptive or delusional."

Private Banking Files Are Private, Unless Bush Says Otherwise

European banks have been bastions of privacy for quite some time. Swiss banks are of course the most famous, but banking privacy laws are pretty strict throughout western Europe (unlike in America, where Equifax knows more about your checkbook than you do). In possible violation of those laws, however, a Belgian banking consortium opened up their files to the CIA, and it may cost them--but not if the President has anything to say about it.

White House Declares Itself a "Freedom" Free Zone

The Bush administration argued in court papers this week that the White House Office of Administration is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act as part of its effort to fend off a civil lawsuit seeking the release of internal documents about a large number of e-mails missing from White House servers.

In other words, us taxpayers pay for everything over there, but those guys are no longer able to be scrutinized in any way, and if we don't like it, well I guess we know what Cheney would say.

Karl "Turd Blossom" Rove (I'm not kidding, his FRIENDS really call him that) is the largest rat (literally) to flee the Bush Administration's ship and he's doing it by the end of this month. To justify his departure Mr. Rove pulled out the old "spend more time with my family" chestnut--who knew Rove even HAD a family. A horde, sure. A legion, why not. A coven, maybe. But a family?

Pentagon Endorses Apocolyptic Video Game Sent To Soldiers

Posted by Pile (11926 views) Add this story to MyYahoo Add this article to del.icio.us Submit article to Reddit Add story to Furl Add story to StumbleUpon [E-Mail link]

The "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" video game, is set in a "post apocalyptic" New York that looks almost exactly like New York City after the 9/11 terrorist attacks and lets players simulate commanding a paramilitary Christian army that seeks to convert Jews, mainline Christians, Muslims, atheists, Buddhists, and everyone else in New York City to fundamentalist Christianity. All who resist will be killed.

Now, with the blessing and endorsement of the Pentagon, a Christian ministry with apocalyptic fundamentalist beliefs that is planning a series of tours it calls a 'military crusade' to entertain US troops in Afghanistan and Iraq will also be distributing the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" 'Convert or Die' religious warfare video game....

To US troops.

What ?

Let me repeat:

The United States Pentagon has endorsed sending a Christian supremacist religious warfare video game to United States troops in Iraq, a predominantly Muslim nation.

Osama Bin Laden himself could hardly hardly have hatched a better plot to incite widespread war between Christianity and Islam.

When it comes to actions taken by this administration, timing is everything. From making appointments when the Congress is away on vacation to releasing bad news when it will be least noticed by the mainstream media, they're pretty clever about it. For instance, if George W. had issued his last executive order before we invaded Iraq in 2003 then the Secretary of the Treasury would be forced to freeze all of his assets.

Defense Says George W. Bush's Name Can't Be Used In Court

Apparently President George W. Bush is now so unpopular that some lawyers believe the mere mention of his name in front of a jury could tip the scales against them.

Attorneys Michael P. Laffey and Robert P. DiDomenicis of Holsten & Associates in Media, Pa., are defending Upper Darby Township, Pa., in a civil rights suit brought by Harold Lischner, an 82-year-old doctor who claims he was falsely arrested for displaying an anti-war sign at a Bush campaign event in September 2003.

With the case set to go to trial on July 23, the defense lawyers recently filed a flurry of motions, including one that asked Eastern District of Pennsylvania Judge Gene E.K. Pratter to prohibit the plaintiff from mentioning Bush’s name.

Government Hands Proof of Spying To Lawyer, Then Wants It Back

Recently the 6th U.S. Court of Appeals (no, that's not where the Heretics burn in open tombs for eternity- that's the 6th Circle of Hell, although there are similarities) threw out a case challenging President "Herr" Bush's domestic wiretapping program on the grounds that they could not prove that they were affected by the program. This is fortunate for the government as they are also the one with the list of those they were (allegedly) illegally wiretapping and they aren't eager to go posting that information on their blogs. So that's quite a pickle- you don't have standing to sue the government unless you're affected by the wiretapping and the government won't tell you IF you were affected by the wiretapping so that you can then sue... them. Fortunately for Wendell Belew he got this document one day...
