In what can best be characterized as terrifying, the New Yorker has a detailed article outlining the intent of the Bush administration in the Middle East, along with plans for dismantling accountability and public scrutiny of military and diplomatic operations. If you thought you were clueless as to what the administration was doing in other countries, you can forget about ever knowing now, as even Congress is now left out of the loop.
