70s pop singer, Cat Stevens, author of such controversial, pro-terrorist songs as, "Peace Train" and "Where Do The Children Play" has been deported from the Unites States after boarding a flight from London to the U.S. when he was supposed to be on the infamous "no fly" list (though he didn't know this and in May he flew into the US as well with no problems). Cat Stevens converted to the Muslim religion many years ago, and authorities claim he has given money to groups with terrorist ties. Stevens denies this and his plane he was flying on with his daughter was diverted to Maine and he is to be deported out of the country.

We can all sleep a little better tonite, after our noble authorities have captured a notorious 52-year old teacher from Maryland, who was caught sneakily hiding a leather bookmark in a book that authorities feel was a WMD. Kudos to the authorities for recognizing that the next wave of terrorists will be middle-aged special-ed teachers wielding bookmarks. More evidence that reading leads to terrorism!

In what is a strange coincedence, thirteen minutes after the 1,000th US soldier is killed in Iraq, Secretary of Fear, Tom Ridge issues another ambiguous and illogical terror alert relating to the upcoming November elections. Nice timing!

I for one feel safer knowing our Dept. of Homeland Security is ever-vigilant in issuing bogus press releases to cover up more important news stories.

Cheney says wrong vote in Nov will bring disaster

Vice President Dick Cheney on Tuesday warned Americans about voting for Democratic Sen. John Kerry, saying that if the nation makes the wrong choice on Election Day it faces the threat of another terrorist attack.

I guess it's a good thing the nation made the right choice four years ago, otherwise, we might have had a president in office that would ignore terrorist threats and cause, say, a devastating attack on say, the WTC. Good thing we didn't make the wrong choice eh? Thanks Dick!

Remember Osama? That dude to attacked the World Trade Center? Well, you never heard his name at the RNC, but he's in the news again.

Yet another spate of non-news stories are floating around about how any second now, Bin Laden and all his lieutenants are going to be captured. Not unlike any moment now the Iraqi WMDs were going to turn up.

In a related story, please send me a $1000. If you do, at some point in the future, you'll get $10000 back. Trust me.

Two of the Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers had a support network in the United States that included agents of the Saudi government, and the Bush administration and FBI blocked a congressional investigation into that relationship, Sen. Bob Graham wrote in a book to be released Tuesday.

There's an interesting new video that introduces the question, with some degree of substance, as to whether or not the Pentagon was actually hit by a commercial airliner on 9/11. Judge for yourself.

US Spends $90M on Anti-Shoulder-Missile Research

The US Government has awarded $90M of taxpayer money to two firms to research attempts to combat shoulder-fired missiles at airplanes.

Now I'm no rocket scientist, but these things seem to be capable of being set up and fired in seconds-to-minutes. What kind of system could anybody actually develop to knock a missile out before it hits a plane in such a short time period? Maybe it might be more prudent to stop selling and giving away these types of weapons to tons of other nations?

After nearly three years of confinement at Guantanamo Bay, Australian national David Hicks goes on trial for alleged terrorism before a U.S. military court. "There'll be no pictures allowed of David Hicks, no audio from the courtroom, no pictures of the defence, prosecution or presiding officer entering the building, and military camera operators will choose what images are broadcast
via closed circuit television to most journalists covering the hearing," reports the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

According to reporter Leigh Sales, some of the restrictions on press coverage "are bizarre and have no parallel. For example, journalists in the courtroom can't use phone lines to file stories
during breaks in the proceedings. If you get up to go to the toilet, you are then barred from the courtroom for the rest of the day. ... Another restriction here, is that no sound or pictures
whatsoever will be taken of the military commissions, even though they're one of the most important legal aspects of the Bush administration's war on terrorism, and the first proceedings of this kind since the Second World War."

The new Iraqi government, citing "National Security" concerns, has closed down the Baghdad office of the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera television network. They say the network's news stories, focusing on crime and terrorist acts are hurting the country's efforts to rebuild. I'm not sure how you get off on the right hoof in creating a better society when you shut down the main independent media in the nation. Generally speaking, my BS-detector always goes off when someone uses "National Security" as a reason for stifling free speech.

It appears the FBI launched a sting operation under the premise of obtaining weapons to assassinate a Pakistani official which has outraged Pakistani authorities who are now claiming they're in more danger because of the FBI's premise. Now, I'm no FBI or international relations expert, but it seems to me, if you want to catch terrorists, you might not go undercover as people who want to kill the leaders of a government that you're trying to get cooperation from to help catch terrorists.

CIA operatives? Rogue soldiers of fortune? Patriotic rug merchants? Whoever they are, these now-disavowed Americans were caught in Afghanistan interrogating prisoners in their own homemade prison. I leave it to you, the reader, to sift through this messy pile to figure out what the deal is. Personally I think this has CIA written all over it, but the first rule of Fight Club is...
