US Spends $90M on Anti-Shoulder-Missile Research Posted by Pile (5289 views) [E-Mail link] [Terroir-ism] The US Government has awarded $90M of taxpayer money to two firms to research attempts to combat shoulder-fired missiles at airplanes. Now I'm no rocket scientist, but these things seem to be capable of being set up and fired in seconds-to-minutes. What kind of system could anybody actually develop to knock a missile out before it hits a plane in such a short time period?
