Tutored Teabaggers
Posted by gabby on 2009-08-09 22:41:16 | | I went to a counter protest of these teabaggers yesterday and it was obvious that they were all tutored by someone. Though they were supposed to be on one side of the road they would come over to our side and try to place large flags over our signs, yell inches away from us, try to engage us in an arguments about our signs, if any of us responded they would yell obviously they had no interest in a real conversation. By the way they had very large expensive looking flags that said, "Don't Tread On Me", "Liberty", as well as American Flags. They had some disgusting racist pictures of President Obama in white face looking like the joker. They would bring in non-related issues such as cap and trade, immigration, abortion whatever. They would whip out personal cameras and take pictures of us, who knows why? This is the second encounter I have had with them and each time they have men in tee shirts with an independent news network logo and huge professional video cameras taping us but I have not been able to Google the network (Long Island Independent News Network). Some cursed and I mean vile curses to women. We were a diverse group but there was an elderly women there who was being harassed by a man and a women. They were in her face yelling at her and she made it clear she did not want to talk to them. Only after I told them that I was going to call the police officer over did they back off. By the way the police were very friendly and fair. The teabaggers want to disrupt and they are very organized. They hated the fact that we for the most part ignored them, did not respond to them barely gave them eye contact. Like tantruming children they want an audience. |

The information in my previous comment was from my experience being at the protest. Have you been to a protest, town hall meeting or forum on health care? What has been your experience? From where do you get your information? |

however, if people don't want what's best for them and rather keep the current toxic system as is, I'm not going to complain as my personal finance is secure... thanks to these... confused people. |

I would prefer a single payer system but currently there is no hope for that. The public option may be the best we can hope for if that. I am a speech language pathologist and work with many medically fragile babies. Their speech services (usually feeding therapy goals) are covered in NY state but families are devastated by health care bills. I was at the protest to advocate health care reform and protest against the people who wanted the status quo. I am sorry if I gave the opposite impression. I must have written too many reports for work that day... |
