False Equivalence

(also known as: "Making an unfair comparison")

You incorrectly assume two separate institutions, groups, people or issues are of equal blame, importance or severity.

Just because there are similarities between two things, does not mean they are equally bad, equally good, or equally significant.

Also, even if they were, two bad things don't cancel each other out. This leads to another logical fallacy called, "Two Wrongs Make A Right."
