Christian Group Upset Over Homophobic Country Singer Character

 Life Decisions International (LDI), a Washington DC-based group that has attempted to organize boycotts against companies that contribute to Planned Parenthood, has lashed out at the broadcast networks for allowing "programming that blatantly mocks Christianity." The group wasted no time denouncing Wednesday night/Thursday morning's episode of Late Night With Conan O'Brien, in which the host introduced a new character, "the homophobic country-western singer"... oh yea, you have to hear these lyrics... |

In a statement, LDI President Douglas R. Scott, Jr. said, "The idea that anyone would think about the Son of God in this way is simply appalling. The inferences that permeate the song are utterly disgusting." Likewise, last month Scott fired off a letter to CBS after an episode of Two and a Half Men, in which the Charlie Sheen character sang to the melody of Joy to the World: "Joy to the world / I'm getting laid / I'm getting laid tonight. / We'll light the Yule log / Deck the halls / And then we'll play / Some jingle balls." Scott said at the time that the song could be retitled "Joy to Fornication," adding, "CBS has allowed a song about the most precious, sacred and significant moment in history to be turned into a song about having sex outside of marriage." |

BECAUSE HELL IS NOT FAR FROM BECOMING A REALITY FOR SOME PEOPLE. WHEN THE BIBLE SPOKE OF HIS SAINTS ONE DAY HAVING THE FINAL LAUGH ON THE PEOPLE WHO DID NOT ACCEPT HIM, WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY THAT IS GOING TO BE. PEOPLE WAKE UP REAL SOON BECAUSE IT ISN'T FAR OFF. |
| Posted by Brianna S. on 2007-01-22 00:45:54 | It's going to be hard for those of us that don't believe in hell to end up in it. Hell was created as a way for the religions to get you to do right by following them. And if you need religion to do the right thing, then you have a problem.
As far as the networks go, good for them. People need to understand that the 'good book' that they read may or may not be true. No proof exists. We weren't there when it was written. It was written after Jesus' birth and was rewritten many times by people that put their thoughts and ideas into it and change it. And isn't God always looking out for you? Why can't he enjoy a steamy shower too?
For the end not being far off, the only end we are going to see is the end of the regime in DC. |

You consider atheists swine, so shut the f*ck up and do something positive in this world. Help the needy, care for the sick, feed the starving. Because one day, if you're right, Jesus may come back for judgment day. I'll say "I'm sorry, God... I used the brain you gave me and couldn't beleive blindly, but I spent my life as best I could." And when he comes to you, what will you say? That you spent your life screaming at those that didn't believe? Condemning them? Passing judgment that, according to your scripture, only the Lord can pass?
I do not believe that Jesus Christ is my lord and savior. I reject the idea that there is a supreme being watching over me and guiding my life. I strive to live my life bringing joy into this world, and relieving the suffering of the people. At the moment, I emplore you to treat people that don't believe as your equals, regardless of where you think they will go when they die.
Oh, and the caps-lock key is located approximately five millimeters (that's about 1/4") to the left of the "A" key. I think you have a problem there. |

You accuse me of being judgmental I assure you that is not my intention at all as well. I am not doing the judging God has already spoken forthcoming judgment for these sins. But for someone to say that I am judging it appears to me that you are judging me also. You do not know what I do for the poor and starving. I have helped in doing a lot for the less fortunate and as a Christian that is what I am to do and further more I enjoy doing as a human. No man or woman is beneath me I consider everyone my equal. Jesus said. "that all man has failed short of the Glory of God" ,so therefore that is what makes us all equal. But where we separate is I choose to follow Jesus you are free not to believe the bible tells you that. It sounds to me as if you are a good hearted person. What a witness you could be for Jesus Christ if only you believed. I only know that when I truly reached out and asked God to hear me He did. All you have to do is the same and you would truly believe that their is a Supreme being that does in fact watch over us every single day. There is so much love that comes from Him. Also, the only reason I replied to this subject in the first place was that I as a Christian was offended by how they casted My GOD in such a shameful manner. I stood up for what i believe also is there any wrong in that? So, if i offended you I apologize but as far as apologizing for standing up for JESUS CHRIST I DO NOT!!! Finally your heart is just one beat away from knowing from finding out that there is a GOD. Do you really want to chance dying and spending eternity in HEll? Again, you spoke of caring for others and I care for you and your soul. Read your bible and do not be judgmental of it while you read. It is the greatest story ever told not only that it is more than a story. And its more than a page in history. He is the air that i breathe and the water I thirst for and the ground beneath my feet.
