America has told Britain that it can “kidnap” British citizens if they are wanted for crimes in the United States.

A senior lawyer for the American government has told the Court of Appeal in London that kidnapping foreign citizens is permissible under American law because the US Supreme Court has sanctioned it.

The head of the federal agency investigating Karl Rove's White House political operation is facing allegations that he improperly deleted computer files during another probe, using a private computer-help company, Geeks on Call.

Scott Bloch runs the Office of Special Counsel, an agency charged with protecting government whistleblowers and enforcing a ban on federal employees engaging in partisan political activity.

This brainiac was caught calling "Geeks on call" for instructions on how to wipe hard drives.

Kucinich: Are You Kidding? This Is About World Peace!

[Television]
Dennis Kucinich appeared on the CBS Early Show the other day and was asked by the host Hanna Storm, whether it was a good idea to meet with the leader of Iran. Watch as he embarrasses the biased show host by speaking frankly and with common sense nobody else at the network seems to have.

When Ms Storm's attempt to malign Kucinich fails, she goes after his wife personally, fixating on her tongue ring while Dennis wants to talk about world peace. Very classy people there at CBS. If this doesn't demonstrate the bizarre agenda some in the media have, I don't know what does.

[Beating Dead Horses]
A video is floating around showing a news reporter asking President Bush tough questions. Of course, this is on Irish TV and not the American media. Check out how upset Bush gets that someone has the audacity to question the legitimacy of torture or the war in Iraq.

President Bush, a man who's about as popular as bacon sandwiches during Ramadan, is just getting started. Vetoing, that is. A bill which fairly flew through both houses of Congress with incredible support from both sides has been struck down by el Presidente. What was wrong with it? It gives money to repair hurricane damage, restore wetlands, and prevent flooding. Those bastards.

FEMA Holds Press Conference.... For FEMA?

FEMA has truly learned the lessons of Katrina. Even its handling of the media has improved dramatically. For example, as the California wildfires raged Tuesday, Vice Adm. Harvey E. Johnson, the deputy administrator, had a 1 p.m. news briefing.

Reporters were given only 15 minutes' notice of the briefing, making it unlikely many could show up at FEMA's Southwest D.C. offices. They were given an 800 number to call in, though it was a "listen only" line, the notice said -- no questions. Parts of the briefing were carried live on Fox News, MSNBC and other outlets.

So who did FEMA give the press conference to? Other FEMA employees pretending to be reporters.

Bush Inserts Secret Clause In Bill To Pardon His Own War Crimes

This is about a year old, but still worth revisiting because it never got enough press last year: Deep within the "Terrorist Tribunal" Act is a provision retroactively pardoning the President, Vice President, and their subordinates for violations of the War Crimes Act committed since September 11, 2001.

Btw this bill was part of the Military Commissions Act of 2006, which passed and is now law.

Slate writes, "President Bush's TV address [Thursday] was the worst speech he's ever given on the war in Iraq, and that's saying a lot. Every premise, every proposal, nearly every substantive point was sheer fiction. The only question is whether he was being deceptive or delusional."
