A growing number of evangelical christians believe that there is a revival underway in America that requires Christian youth to seize control in advocating causes of their religious movement.

There is a new documentary film being released by Magnolia pictures called, "Jesus Camp" -- an evangelical warrior training center. Some say they take kids as young as 6 years old and subject them to nothing less than physiological torture and brainwashing to "become dedicated soldiers in God's army."

Their web site states, "The Church Of Googlism believes a convincing argument can be made stating that the search engine Google is the closest mankind has ever come to experiencing an actual Deity. It is the ultimate bridge between people and information.

Deities are typically described by their unique attributes such as being all knowing, being everywhere at once, the ability to pray to them (and have your prayers answered), immortality and their sense of morality. Google exhibits all of these characteristics perfectly."

While Jesus may be all-knowing and all-seeing, some of his followers aren't, and apparently they covet some of Jesus' power.

Watchers of right-wing Christian groups in the States say a new apocalyptic videogame released by cultish Revelations-based fiction series Left Behind is riddled with spyware.

Developers have incorporated software from an Israeli firm called Double Fusion. It incorporates video advertising and product placement into the game, and reportedly records players' behaviour, location, and other data to be uploaded to Left Behind's Bible-powered marketing machine.

Makes you wonder if this is going to turn into The Last Starfighter Redux where the kids who score higest at smiting their heathen enemies are recruited into a secret army...

[Polls]
American's increasing acceptance of religious diversity doesn't extend to those who don't believe in a god, according to a national survey by researchers in the University of Minnesota's department of sociology.

From a telephone sampling of more than 2,000 households, university researchers found that Americans rate atheists below Muslims, recent immigrants, gays and lesbians and other minority groups in "sharing their vision of American society." Atheists are also the minority group most Americans are least willing to allow their children to marry.

Texas Gubenatorial Candidate Showcases Aborted Fetus On HomePage

Texas Republican candidate for Governor, songwriter, rancher, secret agent, Star Locke has some rather radical ideas for his state and the country: 100% tax on violent video games and toys, and a $10,000 charge per aborted fetus, take away money from schools and use it to take control of the Alcohol and Beverage Commission, and force all schools to serve high protein meals. He even has a program to save taxpayer dollars, whereupon anyone who comes up with an idea to save taxpayer dollars, gets 75% of those save dollars and the other 25% go back to the government. Huh?

Oh yea, there's also that bit on the web site about how he was hired by the government to assassinate Fidel Castro.

[Beating Dead Horses]
An Italian judge has ordered a priest to appear in court this month to prove that Jesus Christ existed.

The case against Father Enrico Righi has been brought in the town of Viterbo, north of Rome, by Luigi Cascioli, a retired agronomist who once studied for the priesthood but later became a militant atheist.

Signor Cascioli, author of a book called The Fable of Christ, began legal proceedings against Father Righi three years ago after the priest denounced Signor Cascioli in the parish newsletter for questioning Christ’s historical existence.

Our pundit finds himself with a very plausible argument on other possible theories that are worth consideration. This is a good read.

You can't make this stuff up people..The other night, anti-abortion extremist Neal Horsley was a guest on The Alan Colmes Show, a FOX News radio program. The topic was over whether or not an internet service provider should allow Horsley to post the names of abortion doctors on his website. Horsley does that as a way of targeting them and one doctor has been killed. In the course of the interview, however, Colmes asked Horsley about his background, including a statement that he had admitted to engaging in homosexual and bestiality sex... according to Horsley (no pun intended), it is normal where he comes from to have sex with mules and other animals and he sees nothing unusual about it.

In what can only be considered yet another feather in CNN's ethical approach to news coverage, their favorite furry anchor Wolf Blitzer, on the topic of the Pope's death and introducing several guests questioned whether the catholic on the panel that is of a more liberal persuasion was actually capable of being a "good catholic." In the wake of this man's religious leader dying, he seemed to not be happy with Blitzer's casual moral judgements. Go figure?

Utah Governor Forces ISPs To Filter Internet Content

Utah's governor has defied criticism from technology firms and free speech activists to sign into law a bill designed to protect children from Internet pornography, which forces ISPs to block access to web sites deemed "harmful to minors". Utah huh? I thought the Mormons were supposed to be the model family structure? Are they now admitting that they need state-sanctioned help in controlling what media their children have access to? Then again, this state also has the highest prozac consumption in the country, so methinks this bubble has finally burst.

Cheaper To Test Toxins On Humans Than Cuss

The Bush administration has clearly set their priorities for the country, with new legislation that dramatically increases fines levied by the FCC over "indecent" broadcasting. The problem is these new fines make a mockery of the government's enforcement scheme in other areas many thinking people find find a lot more important.

A review of fines levied by other federal agencies suggests that the government may be taking swear words a bit too seriously. If the bill passes the Senate, Bono saying "f*cking brilliant" on the air would carry the exact same penalty as illegally testing pesticides on human subjects. And for the price of Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction" during the Super Bowl, you could cause the wrongful death of an elderly patient in a nursing home and still have enough money left to create dangerous mishaps at two nuclear reactors.

Bush Bans Divorcee, Royal Family, From White House

UK's Mirror has reported that George Bush has banned Camilla Parker Bowles from the White House - because she is a divorcee. The unprecedented snub has effectively sabotaged Charles's plan to take his bride on a Royal tour of America later this year. The trip would have been the pair's first official tour as a married couple. But the US President - a notoriously right-wing Christian and reformed alcoholic - told aides it was "inappropriate" for him to be playing host to the newly-weds, who are both divorcees. The decision was made even though the late President Ronald Reagan was divorced.

Moral Activist Group Peddles Smut

Ever wonder who complains about inappropriate content on television? We've covered this before; there's basically a small group that tends to be responsible for most complaints, and also has a history of distorting the truth to condemn their enemies and make their organization appear more powerful. The Parents Television Council seems to be the almost exclusive source of riling up moralist members of the populace to petition the FCC, but what makes this group so interesting is the fact that their web site features downloadable clips of virtually everything they can find in their never-ending search for questionable material. Did you miss the scene from VH1's Surreal Life where Peter Brady goes to the strip club? Well, the moral watchdogs have it available for download on their site! Why wade through hours of mundane tv to find questionable material when the PTC has it neatly compiled for you!
