Last week, public access was restored to the Statue of Liberty, but with lots of restrictions and high-tech gadgetry. Doesn't something seem wrong when to visit a sacred symbol of America's freedom, you have to pass through a gauntlet of metal detectors, explosives detectors and fingerprint scans?
